Our Company

Focal Point Jewellery is a specialized digital brokerage designed to bridge the gap between luxury and accessibility. We bypass the traditional retail model to source high-quality loose diamonds and gemstones directly from the global market, ensuring you pay for the stone’s true value rather than a store's overhead.

A retail jeweler sells from a static, owned inventory with high markups to cover their storefront overhead (rent, staff, security). As a broker, Focal Point acts as your purchasing agent. We source diamonds on-demand from the global wholesale market, charging a small markup rather than a retail "sticker price".

No. To maintain wholesale-tier pricing for our clients, we strictly eliminate the cost of luxury retail rent and physical security. We operate as a lean digital brokerage, providing high-resolution assets and virtual media to facilitate informed decisions without the "retail premium".

Our products are mainly sourced from Canada, The United States, and India, ensuring speedy delivery and competitive pricing directly from suppliers and manufacturers.

At Focal Point Jewellery, we take care in carefully selecting where our resources are allocated, allowing us to offer prices below the suggested retail value.

We are specialists, not generalists. By strictly brokering loose stones, we ensure you receive the highest quality asset for your budget. We provide the loose stone and its grading report, which you can take to any independent bench jeweller for a bespoke setting.

Diamonds

Buying loose is the only way to verify a stone's true quality. Settings can hide inclusions or tint the perceived color of a diamond. A loose stone allows for a full 360-degree inspection to ensure the 4Cs (Cut, Colour, Clarity, Carat) are graded accurately.

Yes. We only broker diamonds with reports from the GIA (for natural) or IGI (for lab-grown), as these are the global standards for protection. Another important note, lab-grown diamonds are created in a controlled laboratory environment, they offer a transparent, traceable origin that inherently bypasses the ethical complexities of the traditional mining supply chain. This ensures that every Focal Point diamond is 100% conflict-free by design.

"Eye-clean" is a trade term for a stone with no inclusions visible to the naked eye from a distance of 6 to 12 inches. We help clients identify these stones (typically VS2–SI1) to maximize value without paying for invisible clarity grades.

Our products are sourced from multiple countries from different suppliers. some suppliers have different overhead and costs involved in manufacturing and processing diamonds which results in a variance between costs compared to one another.

If the diamond you purchased has a certificate from IGI or GIA, you can cross-reference it on the certifying company’s website to ensure that the specification of what you are intending to purchase lines up with what you are viewing. The verification of the certificate is free and available on their website to confirm authenticity. If the diamond you are viewing however is non-certified, the only way to truly know if it is authentic is by having the diamond tested by a reputable source. However, diamonds that pass through our office are run through an in house testing procedure before being shipped out, but we do recommend getting them tested and verified by a third-party.

We do offer wholesale pricing for larger purchases. Feel free to contact us at focalpointjewellery@gmail.com or by viewing our wholesale inquiry page to get in touch about pricing or qualifying orders.

SOURCING & BUYING

Once you place your order, we immediately secure your stone from the wholesaler. It typically takes 3–7 business days to source the diamond into our facility for final inspection. Following this, we require an additional 3 business days for quality control processing and secure shipping to your door. The total estimated timeline from order to delivery is 6–10 business days.

We offer a 7-day inspection and return window for all certified loose solitaire diamonds. This window begins upon delivery. To ensure your confidence, we provide high-resolution videos and grading reports prior to purchase so you can vet the asset before it ships.

Policy Exclusions & Conditions:

  • Melee Diamonds: Due to the nature of wholesale parcel sourcing, all melee (non-certified accent) diamonds are final sale and ineligible for return.
  • Security Seal: Certified diamonds must remain in their original, tamper-evident laboratory-issued protective pouch if provided.
  • Tampering: If the laboratory seal is broken or the stone has been set into jewellery, the return policy is void.
  • Documentation: All original GIA or IGI grading certificates must be returned in perfect condition to process a refund.

Are diamonds an investment? No. We explicitly advise clients to view diamonds as a high-value luxury purchase, not a financial investment or a speculative asset. Diamonds do not provide guaranteed returns and should not be purchased with the expectation of future profit.

The Brokerage Value Advantage: While not an investment, buying through a brokerage allows you to acquire the stone at a market-entry price point. By bypassing traditional retail markups—which can be 200% or higher—you minimize the immediate "markup loss" that occurs at a standard jewellery store, ensuring you pay closer to the stone's actual wholesale market value.
