SHIPPING, INSURANCE & RETURNS POLICY

Effective Date: January 19, 2026

By completing a purchase with Focal Point Jewellery, the Buyer acknowledges and agrees to the following legally binding terms. This policy forms part of our master Terms of Service.

1. SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Processing & Lead Times

  • Loose Diamonds: Orders are typically processed for shipment within 6-10 business days.

  • Custom Orders: Specific timelines provided at the time of order for unique sourcing or stone preparation supersede general processing times.

Shipping Methods & Security All orders are shipped via tracked third-party couriers (FedEx, UPS, Purolator, or Canada Post).

  • NO P.O. BOXES: For security reasons, we do not ship to P.O. Boxes.

  • SIGNATURE REQUIRED: ALL SHIPMENTS REQUIRE A DIRECT ADULT SIGNATURE. You acknowledge that a signature captured by the carrier at the delivery address is conclusive proof of delivery and contract fulfilment.

2. RISK OF LOSS & INSURANCE

TRANSFER OF RISK (F.O.B. SHIPPING POINT) ALL SALES ARE MADE ON AN "F.O.B. SHIPPING POINT" BASIS. THIS MEANS THAT LEGAL TITLE TO THE GOODS AND THE ENTIRE RISK OF LOSS OR DAMAGE PASSES TO THE BUYER THE MOMENT THE PACKAGE IS DISPATCHED AND ACCEPTED BY THE THIRD-PARTY CARRIER.

NO SELLER-PROVIDED INSURANCE FOCAL POINT JEWELLERY DOES NOT PROVIDE TRANSIT INSURANCE FOR ANY SHIPMENTS. * CARRIER LIMITATIONS: Standard shipping carriers in Canada generally do not offer insurance coverage for loose diamonds or unmounted gemstones.

  • BUYER’S RESPONSIBILITY: It is the sole responsibility of the Buyer to arrange for independent third-party insurance (such as a "Jewellers’ Block" policy or private transit insurance) if they wish to protect their purchase against loss, theft, or damage during transit.

  • WAIVER OF LIABILITY: FOCAL POINT JEWELLERY SHALL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY ITEMS LOST, STOLEN, OR DAMAGED ONCE THE CARRIER HAS TAKEN POSSESSION OF THE SHIPMENT. NO REFUNDS OR REPLACEMENTS WILL BE ISSUED BY FOCAL POINT JEWELLERY FOR TRANSIT-RELATED ISSUES.

3. RETURNS & REFUNDS

Our return policy is strictly categorized by product type. Please review your item category before purchasing.

CATEGORY A: FINAL SALE (NON-RETURNABLE) The following items are STRICTLY FINAL SALE and are non-returnable, non-refundable, and non-exchangeable:

  • CALIBRATED MELEE DIAMONDS (Natural & Lab-Grown)

  • MELEE DIAMONDS (Natural & Lab-Grown)

CATEGORY B: 7-DAY LIMITED INSPECTION (CERTIFIED SOLITAIRES) We offer a 7-day inspection window exclusively for unset Solitaire Natural Diamonds, Lab-Grown Diamonds, and Gemstones.

  • 24-HOUR DISCREPANCY RULE: You must report any discrepancies, count errors, or damage within 24 hours of delivery.

  • 7-DAY NOTIFICATION: Intent to return must be sent via email within 7 calendar days of delivery.

  • CONDITION: Stones must be in original, unset, "Vault Condition." Any stone that has been set, laser-drilled, or altered in any way will be rejected.

  • MANDATORY DOCUMENTATION: All original laboratory certificates (GIA/IGI) must be included. Missing certificates will result in a replacement fee of $250 CAD or the immediate denial of the return.

4. RETURN SHIPPING PROCESS

For qualifying Category B items:

  • AUTHORIZATION: You must obtain a Return Authorization (RA) number before shipping.

  • COSTS & RISK: The Buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs. The Risk of Loss for return shipments remains with the Buyer until Focal Point Jewellery signs for the package.

  • VERIFICATION: All returns undergo a mandatory gemological inspection (verifying laser inscriptions and plot maps) prior to refund approval.

5. INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS

  • DUTIES/TAXES: The Buyer is the "Importer of Record" and is responsible for all customs duties, VAT, and local taxes.

  • CUSTOMS SEIZURE: Focal Point Jewellery is not responsible for packages delayed, opened, or seized by customs authorities.

6. HIGH-VALUE ORDER VERIFICATION

To maintain the integrity of our wholesale network and prevent fraudulent transactions, Focal Point Jewellery reserves the right to implement additional security protocols.

  • Documentation Threshold: For orders exceeding our internal risk threshold, we may require the Buyer to provide valid government-issued photo identification and/or proof of business registration before the order is dispatched.

  • Verification Hold: Failure to provide requested documentation within 48 hours of the request may result in the immediate cancellation and refund of the order, minus any applicable credit card processing fees.

  • Compliance: This process ensures a secure chain of custody and protects both the Buyer and Seller in high-value asset transfers.
